Personal Statement A few years ago, I realized that the technical skills I had learned had only become obstacles on my way. Then I decided to work and act as if I've not attended any art schools and do not know anything about art and design. The result was enjoyable and acceptable for me, although one could follow the evidence of my personal experiences in my work. This new approach to illustration was complicated, because in my view illustration was, to some extent, a very tradition-based art form with its own limitations that one must consider, i.e. the relationship between pictures and the text. It was a challenge for me to work without making any sketches, but I had to start somewhere. Finally, I moved on by outlining first with sketches and then starting to use the scratch technique on oil directly. After this, I pull out the images from the depth of each work. This was the solution that I came up with. |
